The free hugs campaign is a social movement including individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public areas like on the roads in front of whole public. The free hugs campaign initially started in Australia on June 30, 2004 and just by passing 2006 this free hug campaign became famous in all the countries because of the music video on YouTube.
What is Free Hugs Denoting?
Free hugs are symbol of kindness, unity, love, care and selfless nature which is represented to another person via Hug. The international free hugs day is celebrated on first Saturday of month July. Free hugs are a movement which teaches us to get unite leaving the boundaries of age, custom, color, tradition and caste.
Free hugs movement:
Initially when the free hugs movement started, people got suspicious about the strangers who are offering free hugs and the movement was also stopped. And when the authorities tried to stop the campaign, some about 10,000 people signed petition for its continuation. Later on the respond to the YouTube video was outstanding and people from Russia, China and, South America, Israel, Portugal, and the US joined this newly created free hugs movement. This video clip is so famous that it is viewed by some around 30.5 million times till now and the record is still going on.
